Bush is a War Criminal

George W. Bush is an idiot, right? We've all heard the stupid things he's said, the way he's garbled popular sayings and mutilated the English language. George W. Bushisms is one of the most traveled books at Bookcrossing.com. And it's hard to imagine the popular John Stewart going a single episode without mentioning what a stupid president we have. A few examples of Bushisms:

"I think we are welcomed. But it was not a peaceful welcome." —George W. Bush, defending Vice President Dick Cheney's pre-war assertion that the United States would be welcomed in Iraq as liberators, NBC Nightly News interview, Dec. 12, 2005

As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself — not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch. As a matter of fact, the Colonel asked if I needed first aid when she first saw me. I was able to avoid any major surgical operations here, but thanks for your compassion, Colonel." —George W. Bush, after visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 1, 2006

"Wow! Brazil is big." —George W. Bush, after being shown a map of Brazil by Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Brasilia, Brazil, Nov. 6, 2005

Funny stuff, huh? It makes you almost feel sorry for him, right? It might even make you a little leary that this man is in control of our country and one of the most powerful millitary machines on the planet. But one thing this doesn't do is clue you into the fact that this man is a war criminal of the highest degree.

According to retired Air Force colonel and lecturer at the National War College, Air War College, and Naval War College, Sam Gardiner,

"The Bush administration had turned psychological operations against Americans. No longer were just foreign enemies being targeted for coercion and deception. Now the target was the U.S. public.

Calling Bush stupid or even wreckless misses a much larger point.

The plans to overthrow Saddam Hussein weren't new. Tip Oneil claims it was a focus from the beginning, and the policy of regime change in Iraq goes back further than Bush Jr. Former CIA assett Saddam Hussein had served his purpose and needed to be disposed of, not because he was a bad guy or killed innocent people, but because he no longer served the interests of the elite in this country.

If he was just stupid. If he was just wreckless. If he just didn't have the common sense to listen to the right people…well how do we hold such an idiot accountable? By that measure he's probably doing the best job he can do considering his limited intelligence. But in reality, despite all the garbled sentences, George W. Bush knew exactly what he was doing when he mislead the American people and Congress into this war.

There was nothing wreckless about the way he continually confused the attacks of 9/11 with Hussein and Iraq. And according to Colonel Sam Gardiner we were the direct target of a pys-ops program to manipulate and deceive us.

By focusing on this man's seeming incompetence misses a much larger point. In fact, I'd say such a view is probably naive. George W. Bush is a war criminal who has masterfully manipulated the American people and Congress to give him carte blanche on just about anything. He stole two elections, robbed the treasury and gave it to the wealthiest Americans, waged a war on Social Security, illegally invaded Iraq, sanctioned abuses of human rights that would make anybody cringe, and has actively created a program to illegally spy on American citizens and all the man is facing is a possible censure? He should be facing a war crimes tribunal.

Let's focus less on how "stupid" he seems and more on what we can do to bring this criminal to justice and win our country back.
